Effectiveness of Telehealth Occupation-Based Coaching for Families with a Child with Type 1 Diabetes

Creighton University is seeking participants for a type 1 diabetes study aimed at examining the effectiveness of occupation-based coaching delivered via telehealth.

Diabetes Telehealth StudyWe’ll explore how this coaching affects child health outcomes, family quality of life and parental competence with health maintenance activities after a child’s diagnosis of type 1 diabetes.

This study is open to families who:

  • Have a young child (2-12 years) diagnosed with type 1 diabetes
  • Live at least one hour from a pediatric endocrinologist’s office
  • Are not currently receiving occupational therapy services
  • Live in Colorado, Nebraska, Iowa or Minnesota

Participants will receive:

  • A $100 stipend
  • An iPad
  • 3 months of Dexcom continuous glucose monitoring supplies
  • 12 weeks of occupational therapy services via telehealth
