Through a collaborative partnership between Teikyo University in Japan and Regis University in Denver, Colorado, the first ever Virtual Exchange Congress was held Sunday, Feb 28 and Monday, March 1, through an interactive platform.
In addition to Teikyo and Regis universities, faculty, practitioners, researchers and students from Colorado State University, University of Colorado, Creighton University, University of Colorado Hospital (UCH), Parker Adventist Hospital and St. Anthony Hospital shared their capstone and research projects in virtual reality. The platform allowed presenters to create an avatar that could walk around and interact in the individual private research suites at a conference center, as if they were there in person.
The partnership between Teikyo and Regis is facilitated through Samuel Goodman, director of Colorado House International, which offers medical study tours to students from Teikyo University’s nursing, occupational and physical therapy programs, who visit various universities and medical settings in Colorado each year.
