At the start of the spring semester, over 30 students from Creighton’s School of Pharmacy and Health Professions gathered for the third-annual etiquette dinner to learn the importance of professional conduct at dinners and receptions.
Students were served a four-course meal in the Ahmanson Ballroom of the Harper Center on campus. Melanie Krings, assistant director of the University of Nebraska Omaha College of Business Administration, discussed appropriate table manners, conversation topics and proper behaviors during meals and receptions.
“In business and social settings, professionals are judged on their conduct,” said Rachel Mabrey, SPAHP alumni relations specialist. “We offer the etiquette dinner because we know how important business dining etiquette is. We want to give our SPAHP students the opportunity to learn professional dining protocol in a realistic, fun setting.”
The annual etiquette dinner is offered to SPAHP students as well as alumni, and also serves as an opportunity for alumni mentors and student mentees to connect.
