Meredith Chaput, a third-year physical therapy student is the 2017 recipient of a Scholarship of Excellence Award by the Association of Schools of Allied Health Professions. Chaput is one of 12 students nationwide in the allied health professions being recognized for achieving excellence in their academic programs and having significant potential to assume future leadership roles in the allied health professions.
The Association Board recognized Chaput’s many achievements, stating that she epitomized “academic achievement, service to your school and to the community, leadership, diversity in activities, and evidence of strong communication skills.” Chaput was awarded $1,000 and a certificate.
“Meredith is very deserving of this honor,” said Kirk Kirk Peck, PT, PhD, chair of the Department of Physical Therapy, “and we could not be more proud of her. We know that her future is very promising in the profession of physical therapy and we are excited to see how she continues to excel as a leader in the field.”
