The October 2016 issue of PT in Motion ranked the state of Nebraska No. 9 in their list of best states in which to practice physical therapy. PT in Motion is a publication from the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA).
The rankings were based on several criteria including well-being and future livability, literacy and health literacy, employment and employment projections, business and practice friendliness, technology and innovation, APTA engagement, compensation and cost of living, and lack of disparities.
“We are proud of our state and this ranking is yet another selling point for our future students and faculty to think about when looking at physical therapy programs,” said Kirk Peck, PT, PhD, CSCS, CCRT, CERP, chair of the Department of Physical Therapy. “We are very active in the APTA and recently our very own Heather Knight, PT, DPT’08, NCS, CBIS, assistant professor and alumna Katie Laubscher, BSHS’06, DPT’06 were featured as APTA 2016 Emerging Leaders.”
