Dean’s Newsletter August, 2016

Dean BradberryWelcome back to the beginning of another academic year. Summer has literally flown by and our programs are beginning again. We already have had our distance first-year OT students in Alaska complete their orientation week and White Coat ceremony last week, and our distance first-year OT students at Regis in Denver will complete similar activities this week. Our first-year campus students will complete their orientation and White Coat ceremony by the end of next week. So, as you can see, we have been hard at work for some time!

September is right around the corner and I hope to see many of you at our annual Homecoming, Sept. 15-18 There are lots of activities including class parties, block parties, continuing education activities and more, so there will be something for just about everyone. Specifically, SPAHP Homecoming events are noted in the link provided in this newsletter.

Additionally, our school’s Alumni Advisory Board meets during this time period and our alumni board members are working very hard on your behalf to assist our school in so many ways, including enhancing our scholarship portfolio to benefit our students.

Special events during Homecoming weekend will be the Dean’s Reception Friday evening, followed by the President’s Alumni Dinner. Importantly, we will recognize our Alumni Merit Award recipient, Brittany Stryker, BSHS’06, OTD’06, at the Dean’s Reception and the President’s Alumni Dinner. Also, we will recognize our Young Alumni Appreciation Awardees at the Dean’s Reception. We also will  celebrate the Golden Jays Class of 1966 and the 20th anniversary of our physical therapy DPT program, the first entry-level doctor of physical therapy in the United States.

I hope you enjoy reading through the great news about your school and University in this edition, and I look forward to seeing you in September.

Best wishes,

J. Chris Bradberry, PharmD
