Dean's Message - August 2017
Dean's Message - August 2017

The fall semester has begun with orientations over the past two weeks for our University of Alaska Anchorage and Regis University OT distance students. We complete new student orientations this week for our pharmacy, OT and PT campus students and our distance pharmacy students. Our first-year enrollments across our disciplines, including our distance and campus pathways, include 117 OT students, 160 pharmacy students and 64 PT students, for a total of 341 entering students. We are very enthused by the caliber of our new students, and we will welcome them as student professionals in our Professionalism Ceremony on Aug. 18. This event is also called our “White Coat Ceremony” since each student receives a white laboratory coat as a symbol of entrance into his or her profession.

As you review this e-newsletter, I am sure you will enjoy reading about the many activities of our school and faculty, including our global initiatives in China that have resulted in 10 affiliations with major Chinese medical universities and hospitals. These affiliations afford our students and faculty clinical learning experiences as well as provide Chinese students and faculty experiences at Creighton. 2016-2017 was a stellar year, thanks to our students, faculty and alumni, and we are ready for another amazing year.  I look forward to seeing you in September at Homecoming!

Best Wishes,

Chris
