Dean's Message - April 2017
Dean's Message - April 2017

J. Chris Bradberry, PharmDThe academic year of 2016-2017 is quickly drawing to a close, with our school’s hooding ceremony scheduled for May 12 and commencement on May 13. These past few months have literally flown by, as our faculty and students are busily wrapping up classes for the spring semester.

Our students recently hosted one of our most successful Spring Banquets. Many thanks to the Pharmacy and Health Professions Student Government (PHPSG) Executive Committee as well as the Banquet Committee for their superb efforts in making this banquet one of the best.

We are expanding our OT and PT teaching laboratories to accommodate larger class sizes. We are also anticipating the construction of a new pharmacy skills laboratory in the “Old Gym.” This should allow us to expand the laboratory to accommodate curricular changes in pharmacy.

As you may know from recent communications, our school is part of a larger effort in the health sciences to incorporate interprofessional education (IPE) into all health sciences disciplines. We are into our second year of this process and are also developing an interprofessional practice (IPP) model in the University Campus of CHI Health Creighton University Medical Center. This is exciting news and Creighton is a national leader in these efforts.

I hope you enjoy this edition; as you can see, we are very active across a wide range of activities. Stay tuned for future updates and I hope to see many of you at our “Get Blue” events, our national receptions and other school and University functions. As always, “Go Bluejays”!
