The Department of Physical Therapy faculty & staff at the Combined Sections Meeting The Department of Physical Therapy faculty, staff, students and residents presented their research work at the Combined Sections Meeting (CSM) in Denver in February. Physical Therapy faculty presented peer-reviewed scholarship including seven educational sessions, nine poster presentations and five platform presentations, and were recognized with awards for their outstanding leadership and scholarship.

Awards          

Gail Jensen, PT, PhD, FAPTA, FNP was selected as the recipient of the APTA Academy of Physical Therapy Education 2020 Award for Leadership in Education.

Joe Lesnak, Dillion Anderson, Brooke Farmer, Dimitrios Katsavelis, and Terry Grindstaff earned the International Journal of Sports Physical Therapy Achievement of Distinction for the Best Original Research Manuscript Award for the article, “Validity of the Hand- Held Dynamometry in Measuring Quadriceps Strength and Rate of Torque Development.” The collaborators of this manuscript represent two Creighton physical therapy students at the time, one exercise science faculty and one physical therapy faculty.
