The School of Pharmacy and Health Profession’s Office of Faculty and Staff Development (OFSD) is dedicated to facilitating the career success and academic advancement and innovation of the faculty and staff. We believe that faculty and staff development is an important part of being engaged, active and vital members of our school.
As such, the OFSD supports faculty and staff in their ongoing pursuit for excellence in teaching, research, outreach, leadership, and professional and personal development by connecting information and resources while providing knowledge and skills needed to grow, excel and succeed in all realms of individual responsibility.
What We Do
The OFSD collaborates with program directors, chairs and other school administrators to:
- Provide leadership for the design, implementation and evaluation of faculty and staff development programs;
- Solicit nominations for recipients for the school-based faculty and staff awards in conjunction with the Faculty Development and Recognition Committee;
- Conduct faculty and staff enrichment programs including new faculty and staff orientation, all school workshops, and teaching effectiveness endeavors.
The Office of Faculty and Staff Development (OFSD) designs, implements and evaluates faculty and staff development programs for the School of Pharmacy and Health Professions. Many of the program offerings are archived in the Creighton Digital Repository.

The Staff Excellence Award recognizes a staff member who contributes positively to a team by providing encouragement and support, is responsive to helping others, shares valuable knowledge, and is reliable.
The Office of Faculty and Staff Development (OFSD) conducts new faculty and staff orientation programming to introduce new faculty and staff to the School, its mission, vision and values.
A Small Group Instructional Diagnosis (SGID), led by a trained faculty and staff facilitator, is a process for gathering formative student feedback by conducting small discussion groups within a class. Instructors can receive feedback from students at any time during a course and then use the information to make adjustments to better facilitate student learning.
For more information about the SGID process and other peer coaching initiatives, or to request an SGID, please contact SPAHPOFSD [at] creighton [dot] edu.
