Support Groups |
|
| There are many support groups
available in the Omaha Metro Area. The Omaha World Herald
publishes a complete list of over 100 current groups with phone numbers
every Monday. Some examples are: groups to address all types
of grief; groups to deal with divorce and special family and parenting
issues; addiction and related issues of all kinds; a huge array of
diagnosis such as Alzheimer's, cancer, or fibromyalgia and conditions
such as obesity, stuttering, and head injury. There are general
mental health support groups and groups for specific mental health
issues as well, such as Panic and Anxiety Disorder. In addition,
there are groups for special populations, such as the disabled, elderly,
or lesbian and gay. Some groups keep the same phone number and location over time. However, because many support groups are organized by individuals, meeting in member's homes, contact information is subject to constant change. Check the current Monday edition of the Omaha World-Herald or contact a newspaper in your area for groups currently available. |
