Office of Interprofessional Scholarship, Service & Education (OISSE)

Creighton University's Office for Interprofessional Scholarship, Service, and Education (OISSE) was created in 2001 and is responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing educational service learning and scholarly projects related to interprofessional community engagement and scholarship within the School of Pharmacy and Health Professions (SPAHP). OISSE brings opportunities to students and faculty in the SPAHP and across the health sciences interested in community engagement initiatives related to health promotion and prevention and professional formation of students.

OISSE maintains a long-standing partnership with the Omaha and Winnebago Tribes of Nebraska addressing health disparities and providing students from across the health sciences with rural, cross-cultural, interprofessional service learning experiences. Since 2005, OISSE’s community engagement model has expanded to include service learning opportunities in the greater Omaha metropolitan area.
